How can I apply?
Applications to the RELEX Foundation are by invitation only. To start exploring whether your idea or organisation is fit for the RELEX Foundation, you can submit the Expression of Interest Form via the link. The Foundation's team will be in touch about the next steps. Before filling out the form, we ask you to read the sections 'What we do' and 'The Criteria for Support' on our website. If you have read them and think your initiative or organisation and our foundation might be a fit, fill in the form below.

What languages can I use?
You can fill the form either in English or Finnish, questions are provided in both languages.
If you need help in other languages to understand the questions or information, we recommend using free Chat GPT for translating.

Who cannot apply for funding?
Please note that we do not currently provide support for:

• individuals
• for-profit companies
• scholarships or tuition assistance for undergraduate or postgraduate studies, including doctoral studies
• We do not primarily support academic research as important as we think it is. Many other foundations focus on supporting research.
• Also, we do not invest in Venture Capital funds or startups.

When can I apply?
Anytime. Expressions of Interest are reviewed regularly and, if aligned with our priorities, can be developed into proposals, which are then reviewed and, ultimately, taken to the RELEX Foundation's Board for the decision. Applications are typically assessed by the Board three times a year.

Submitting the form is not a formal grant application to the RELEX Foundation. The grant process begins only if the Foundation requests you to submit a formal concept note or a complete application. Please submit your expression of interest for the same initiative only once.

How long will it take to get a response?
Immediately after submitting the form, you will receive a confirmation by email. It includes a copy of your data. Please check your spam folder if you do not see it in your inbox. We will respond within three months if we require further information or see no opportunity to continue into a complete application process. Our team is small. Thank you for your patience.

How much funding does the RELEX Foundation give annually?
We give a maximum of €2,000,000.00 in total each year. Most of this is allocated to biodiversity and climate change related initiatives. A more minor part goes to initiatives and organisations working for equity and social inclusion of children and youth.

What are the criteria for support?
Please read here what we are looking for from the initiatives and organisations we partner with.

Will the RELEX Foundation provide guidance and feedback during the application process?
If your proposed initiative fits the Foundation's objectives, our team will be available to discuss the proposal with you. Proposals typically go through a series of reviews and iterations before final submission.

When will the RELEX Foundation delete the data we have submitted?
We will delete your data after one year of your original submission unless otherwise later agreed by writing between you and the RELEX Foundation. We will not share your data with third parties unless otherwise agreed between you and the RELEX Foundation in writing. Read more on our privacy policy.

Can we contact the RELEX Foundation about our submission?
We would be most appreciative if you do not contact the Foundation's staff or board directly to discuss your request. Our Foundation has a small team, and it assesses expressions of interest as soon as possible. Contacting them takes time from handling requests in a duly manner.
